At Brenner Children's Hospital , we are dedicated to providing exceptional care for children with kidney-related conditions. Our Pediatric Nephrology team is a dynamic, multidisciplinary group that includes skilled attending pediatric nephrologists and pediatricians, an experienced Physician Assistant (PA), and a compassionate team of nurses and staff. We are looking for a PA to join our team and contribute to the care of pediatric patients across a variety of settings.

Position Overview:

The PA will collaborate closely with our nephrology team to deliver comprehensive care to pediatric patients. The role supports diverse provider functions across the pediatric hospital and ambulatory clinic settings, ensuring high-quality care from diagnosis through ongoing management. This position offers a dynamic and fulfilling work environment with opportunities for professional growth and training in specialized areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care for pediatric nephrology patients, including assessments, diagnostics, treatment planning, and management of conditions like kidney disease, hypertension, and electrolyte imbalances.
  • Work collaboratively with nephrologists, PAs, and the nephrology team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for both inpatient and outpatient pediatric patients.
  • Support patients and families by offering education on kidney disease, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Assist with the coordination of care, ensuring seamless communication among multidisciplinary providers.
  • Participate in the delivery of specialty care across a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, dialysis and follow-up care.
  • Opportunities for future training and involvement in specialized procedures such as dialysis, infusion therapies, renal ultrasound, and percutaneous renal biopsies.

Full-time, Salary
Schedule: M-Th: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Fri: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
No weekends, no holidays, and no on-call duties.
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, with a quarterly bonus structure. Expense reimbursement is offered.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in a Nephrology office and dialysis facility. The position involves collaborating with experienced Nephrology providers in the care of patients with chronic kidney disease and those undergoing dialysis. The ideal candidate will work in a supportive environment where supervision from a Nephrology provider is always available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a Nephrology office and dialysis setting.
  • Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams.
  • Assist in the management of patients with chronic kidney disease and those on dialysis.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Educate patients about treatment plans and medication management.
  • Local inpatient rounding
  • Hospital, Dialysis clinics and office within ~1 mile
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Active VA Medical license and DEA certification required.
  • Experience in Nephrology is preferred but not required.
  • Must be a team player and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
